Our Unique Approach

We run on a non profit making basis so we can offer quality training at affordable rates. Our ethos is to provide access to professional Drama Training and acting classes for talented individuals who have been unable to follow traditional routes into the acting profession through lack of academic qualifications, financial restrictions or family responsibilities.

Courses run during the evenings and weekends so that students can earn a living or maintain family commitments. Students must be 18+ to apply to the Diploma and 16+ for the Foundation and all other adult courses. There is no upper age limit.

ACT Kids Theatre offers acting classes for children and young people from 6 to 18.

The ACT team is comprised of highly experienced, passionate and dedicated actors and directors. They bring their own current professional practice into the classroom, relish the opportunity to nurture new talent and are committed to creating a safe, supportive and inspiring creative environment.

The Crucible

by Arthur Miller
Pavilion Theatre, New Road, Brighton
28th - 30th March 2009
Directed by Steve North

Two Year Diploma students public production of The Crucible sold out for its run at the Pavilion Theatre, receiving much praise and good reviews.

"Motivation, dedication and hard work stand any production in better stead than fancy gimmicks, soap stars or other electronic wizardry. Add to the mix a highly competent director (Mr North) and you have a production well worth watching.

The people of Brighton voted with their feet and the production was sold out. It takes much more than just friends and family to do that in this theatre. Sarah Barfoot (Abigail Williams) who was brimming with a sexual tension that more than filled the stage and Amr Mallassi (John Proctor) are my "two" to watch out for here.

They stood out a mile in terms of talent and stage presence despite being amongst very good company indeed. I suggest they will have great careers ahead of them."
